The Longest Dinner Date of my Life
It took just three minutes for me to realize the next three hours were going to be extremely painful.
Only 180 seconds after saying hello, he started telling me how his classic “theventy-theven” car broke down on his way to the date.
Theventy-theven? Oh! Seventy-Seven! Oh, crap.
That’s right, ladies and gents: My date had a lisp. A bad one. And it was not long after that that I realized I was on a date with a grown-up version of Paul Smart, the geekiest kid in my fifth grade class. Touche, karma; ya got me. Continue reading
Dating Don’t: Mentioning your Federal Indictment
Wow, was last night’s date a TRIP. Yeesh, I am still trying to collect my thoughts. I’m busy w/ work this morning, so I can’t put together a full post about it YET, however, I think I’ll be able to … Continue reading
Is Online Dating Doomed?
Inside the September issue of Marie Claire, on page 125, is a Q&A with a former Match.com insider. (He also wrote Yahoo! personals, apparently) As a recent (and somewhat reluctant) adapter to online dating, I was interested in what he … Continue reading
The Ex File
OK, so I’m chugging along, coordinating a firestorm of dates, managing three online dating accounts, and am being as social as social can be. Things are great, right? Wrong. I miss my ex. Like… a lot. Non-stop, actually. One of … Continue reading
Date #5: Flake-out
I had my fifth date lined up several days in advance, but the day before, he shot me a text warning he might have to go out of town for business at the last minute. I wasn’t sure if it … Continue reading
Date #4: “F” for “Friend”
So day 3 (and date #4) has already come and gone, meaning, wow! 10% of my 30-day challenge is already complete! Still, it seems like just (the day before) yesterday that I got this whole thing going… LOL Today’s date … Continue reading
Day 2: 1 Nice Guy
Day 2 started late—I slept in!—and the day’s date was a short one.
Again, it was with a guy who I met online, and through the same site I used to connect with my first two dates. (I’m currently on three sites, but this one has proved to be instant gratification—I signed up for it on Friday, and had multiple date requests that night!!).
Day two’s date was the second time that I knew who my online match was. (The other one was a local DJ who I know, but we’ve only exchanged messages at this point; we haven’t gone on an actual date.) Well, in this case, I didn’t know him, but I knew who he was, which made it a little weird, I guess, but not really.
(Sorry, guys, but I’m not going to tell you who he is. I don’t want to reveal the identities of any of my dates—regardless of their celebrity, or lackthereof. I don’t need any negative karma, or people made at me for naming names or, god forbid, kissing and telling! But feel free to connect the dots and wager a guess or two!) Continue reading
Starting Slow
OK, here goes nothing. Really. It’s day one of my 30 Dates in 30 Days challenge, and I have a brunch lined up.
My date is staying at the Venetian/Palazzo, so I was hoping for brunch at Bouchon, since I loooove that place, or perhaps Canyon Ranch Grill, but no. He suggested Grand Lux Café. Fiiiiine.
This, of course, got me thinking. What can you tell by a man based upon what he has for breakfast? And what does my breakfast say about me? Naturally, I turned to my mystic, Google, for answers. Continue reading
The Challenge: 30 Dates in 30 Days
As a single girl living in Las Vegas, I know that this is Sin City. But amidst all the gambling, drugs and booze, one sin stands out as the most unjust: Good girls can’t find good guys to date! After … Continue reading
